CodeBroker Rolls Out Smart Coupons for Facebook Empowering Retailers to Conduct Secure, Controlled Social Media Marketing Campaigns

CodeBroker’s unique, one-time-use coupon technology gives retailers complete control over the distribution of Facebook offers eliminating fraud and financial liability concerns

Belmont, MA, December 4, 2013 – CodeBroker, the developer of shopper marketing solutions that strengthen the retailer-consumer relationship, today announced Smart Coupons for Facebook, giving retailers the ability to deliver Facebook offers without the fear of fraud or financial liability.

With Smart Coupons for Facebook, retailers know when the offer was received on Facebook, when it was viewed, and when and where it was redeemed, providing a comprehensive picture of the purchase funnel. When the number of allotted offers has been dispensed, the promotion ends, guaranteeing that an offer that goes viral will not result in a huge financial liability for the retailer. CodeBroker ensures that only one offer can be assigned to a Facebook ID (as opposed to using cookies). As a result, retailers can confidently deploy Facebook marketing efforts to increase brand awareness and build customer loyalty.

Recently, one of CodeBroker’s national retailers and a CPG company worked together on successful Smart Coupons for Facebook campaigns promoting gifting of offers and one-time use coupons. The results: The large retail customer experienced a significant increase in basket size, as consumers were drawn into retail stores by the Facebook offer and left with an average additional $30 of items in their shopping carts on more than 150,000 redemptions.

“Retailers have been reluctant to provide rich offers on Facebook because of the potential financial liability they face when offers go viral,” said Dan Slavin, CodeBroker CEO. “Smart Coupons for Facebook leverages our unique, one-time-use coupon technology to take the worry out of Facebook marketing campaigns.”

HOW IT WORKS

Retailers using Smart Coupons for Facebook can run two types of promotions: One-time use-coupons on their Facebook page, or campaigns that let consumers “gift” offers to a Facebook friend.

One-Time-Use Facebook Offers – Visitors to a retailer’s Facebook page receive a one-time-use coupon when they click on the posted offer. The consumer then has the option of printing the coupon or retrieving it from the Facebook mobile application and having it scanned from a smartphone at checkout.

Gifting Offers – Customers click on the offer posted on the retailer’s Facebook page and identify the friend to whom the “gift” should be sent. The Facebook friend receives a notification of the gift and then has the option of printing the coupon or retrieving it from the Facebook mobile app.
