Founded by Dan Slavin and Pero Smrzlic in 2008, the company’s solution benefits from the direct input of top-tier customers, creating a platform that is focused on the needs of retail. CodeBroker is privately-held and profitable with offices in Reston, Virginia and Belmont, Massachusetts.
Dan is a seasoned business leader with extensive experience building and running growing technology firms. He has over twenty years nurturing technology-based companies, with seven of those years focused on the mobile market with a deep commitment to help retailers drive increased revenues through the use of technology. Prior to starting CodeBroker, Dan was CEO of Framework Technologies. Framework created web-based enterprise software for product and project collaboration. It was acquired by Centric Software after raising $45m from top VC firms. In addition, Dan was Vice President of Open Market’s electronic commerce business, the Internet’s first electronic commerce provider and CEO and Founder of International Testing Services which developed software for testing and training administrative and clerical applicants/employees. Dan graduated Summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree and holds an MBA from Harvard University.
Pero is an experienced entrepreneur who has held key senior management positions in engineering, including Director of Engineering, Vignette Corporation, Mobile e-Commerce and Content Delivery; VP of Applications Development, OnDisplay, Inc, B2B Process Applications, where the company had a post-IPO acquisition valued at $1.7b; and Director of Engineering, Software Emancipation Technology, which produced DISCOVER, the first information system used by the software engineering organizations of Fortune 500 companies to optimize performance as outlined via Capability Maturity Model (CMM). Pero has built and successfully led engineering teams for the past twenty years while remaining a hands-on software engineer focusing on product quality and adherence to proven industry practices. His expertise in building high volume, real-time transaction processing systems is instrumental to the performance of the CodeBroker platform. Pero holds a M.S. in Computer Science, and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Applied Math from Western Michigan University.
